Old style light bulbs

Recommended Posts

need some old style incandescent light bulbs. 60w & 100w standard bayonet fitting. I do not want LED or Halogen capsule or low life bulbs.

If you know of somewhere that definitely has these still in stock. Let me know ASAP please. Thank you.

Should be able to buy them online but I think the retail shops had to stop selling?

The best you'll do on the high street are LED bulbs that look like the old incandescent ones.

They look like this, alternativly you can still pick up Halogen bulbs.

Those old type bulbs will become iligal to trade in our lifetime.

Some people in certain EU countries bought hundreds of them before shops were told to stop selling.

Try sisman on wicker last time I was there they had some.

I think I saw some 60 and 100w in Handsworth Asda earlier this week while looking to stock up (with no luck) for some old type 60w candle bulbs.

Do an internet search for 'rough service light bulbs'. They are intended for industrial applications but are just a more robust version of the old domestic bulbs and are therefore not included in the EU ban.

can we sell/make them when we leave the EU in ?

We can, but we'll only be able to sell them to markets where they are already being made at a fraction of the cost.
