Low flying plane over rotherham 22:35

Horrendous noise! Definitely not a helicopter. A definite plane noise! Woke the entire house! Very frightening actually.

 

We aren't on the Doncaster airport flight path.

 

I even panicked it was a plane about to crash!!!!

 

Any idea where I could find out what was going on?

People on facebook are saying it was a 24 year old Russian cargo plane that departed from Doncaster?

Have read on FB its an old cargo plane taken off from Doncaster flying to indoneisia with supplies.

It was a cargo plane Ilyushin ll-76TD flying from Doncaster. Destination wasn’t given on Flightradar24.

VERY loud aircraft over Brightside late evening. Louder than the TV even through the double glazing!!!

It was a cargo plane Ilyushin ll-76TD flying from Doncaster. Destination wasn’t given on Flightradar24.

 

 

It was taking Aid over to Indonesia, very loud and quite low when it went over

It must have been heavy loaded using its full capacity to get up in the air.

Yes, it was flying in that direction.

Thank you for the information. It is good that aid is being taken to Indonesia. The noise was of no consequence - it soon passed.
