Loxley Valley - air full of smoke

Recommended Posts

Been woken up this morning by the smell of burning.

Having been outside the air across loxley valley has a haze to it and is full of vegetation smoke as though grass land has been on fire?

Looks like it's drifted now heading towards town. I can smell it pretty strong in S35.

According to Twitter:

seems a bit far but I do guess the smoke can carry. Edited by Groose

SYP Twitter have stated that the source is due to the staffs Moor fire. Does appear that there is another fire in the Hillsborough area. Seen smoke rising up when I left my house to go to work.

The smoke and the smell of burning has reached across to Gleadless Valley. The smell is of peat burning.

There is now a brown haze now coming from the Staffordshire direction.

From here in Broomhill the haze covers the horizon from Totley moors to Norton.

Might it be the burning of the midnight lamp?
