Jeffrey Shaw   90 #145 Posted August 8, 2018 Has anyone found a download of the leaflet delivered with the brown bins? But you'd have to put the hard-copy leaflet in a blue bin!
 Share this content via...
belperite   11 #146 Posted August 8, 2018 I just wanted to print out the pages with the calendar on an A4 sheet so I can pin it up.
 Share this content via...
chris101 Â Â 10 #147 Posted August 9, 2018 The council expect you to take the old blue box to your local re-cycling centre if you don't want to keep it. Mines going in the brown bin.
 Share this content via...

Mines going in the brown bin.  We need a bigger blue bin but have almost no use for a brown one - we already use our blue bin for paper and card, always have done. hardly anything to fill the box - do you think they'll notice if we paint the brown one blue, lol?  ---------- Post added 09-08-2018 at 14:33 ----------  We need a big bin for polystyrene packaging dreadful stuff to get rid of there must be a way to break it into small bits for insulation use.  Theres only so much you can tear up for pot drainage. Surely they’d empty them both??
 Share this content via...

They wouldn't empty a paper-filled black bin on a blue bin day, I think.
 Share this content via...

They wouldn't empty a paper-filled black bin on a blue bin day, I think.  In the sophisticated utopia of north east Derbyshire they empty the green (garden and food waste) and red bins (recyclable glass, tins etc) on the same day.  That concept might just blow a few minds in Sheffield if this thread is anything to go by! Tim1 Â Â 10 #154 Posted August 14, 2018 Maybe they're just colourblind? Â We have 2 lorries that come. One does the green bin (food, garden) the other does the burgundy bin. The lorry is split and our burgundy bin has a split top that we put paper, batteries, card in and the rest has glass, plastic in. They tip,the little mini bin that sits inside the burgundy in to a bin hooked on the side or the lorry. Every so often they tip this in and it is sorted in a different section in the lorry. We have to put batteries in separate clear bag on top and this is collected separately.
 Share this content via...

We don’t have food waste collections either, garden waste is only if you pay extra... it’s time the government imposed national standards for waste recycling, get some consistency!
