Silverdale School

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I was just wondering if anyone else was having any issues with Silverdale School and their SEN (Special Educational Needs) Provisions? Or is it just me?

Thanks in advance

Hi there

No it’s not just you there is no sen till September as she left in may to take a new role in new school so if you have a problem you will have to wait till September

I’m getting the impression that most secondary schools are having issues with sen departments at the moment.

As a parent of a child who is under sen, personally know how we’ve been let down with this department.

We’ve also known several parents in different secondary schools who’s children are under sen are also experiencing issues.

All Secondary schools must have Senco by law.

Someone in the school must be responsible.

Well we have received 2 letters stating that there will be a period without a SENCO (until September) and i quote..."we ask for your understanding when contacting us about SEN provision until the new SENCO is in place and while we will endeavour to answer any queries you may have, we will be unable to give specific detail regarding the provision for next year"

Don't get me started on schools and Sen departments .. Has any body had issues with bents green school . Suppose to be a specialist school for autism . But they not got a clue how to deal with autistic children . There answer is to make the children deal like aliens and suspend children over 8 times for same reason instead of dealing with the issues.. I could go on for ever .

It's hard enough for parents/children with special needs without having to fight with the schools that is suppose to be there to help

If you are concerned, I suggest that you write to the Department for Education and ask them what they are doing about it. Copy in your MP and Councillors.
