The Consequences of Brexit [part 5] Read 1st post before posting

Recommended Posts

You're trying to rewrite history the NHS £350 million figure was fully challenged, debated and analysed on all the News channels and media. The bus slogan was one of the biggest talking points during the referendum campaign. The truth is the remain campaign benefited from the £350m NHS bus slogan fallout rather than the leave campaign.

Reality Check: Would Brexit mean extra £350m a week for NHS?

15th April 2015

I posted this back in May, but needs to be said again...

People need to stop pretending that no one believed the '£350 Million for the NHS' thing. People did believe it...

A Brexiter friend of mine shared the 'Keep The Promise of £350 Million For Our NHS' Petition on Facebook, just after the referendum, saying "a promise is a promise... and a lie is a lie..."

"Would we have won without £350m/NHS? All our research and the close result strongly suggests No" - Dominic Cummings, Campaign Director of Vote Leave - here:

Since we don't know if Brexit will be positive or negative, we won't know when the promise will be kept; the promise may even be kept if Brexit is negative.

The lie was "Let's give the NHS the £350 million the EU takes every week" - the EU doesn't take £350 million every week - this is a lie that was believed by many people.

Here's the poster (that went with the 'bus' campaign):

It wasn't "Brexit will be good for the economy and we'll be able to spend £350 million extra on the NHS"

Sigh, you people always enjoy saying what you think we DON'T give the EU every week, without going on to state what the figure is that you think we DO give the EU, and its because you know that whatever the figure actually is, it is a huge amount, an amount that, if we chose, we could spend on something like, say.....the NHS.

I think we will be paying millions to the EU, but we don't know yet.

The Ipsos MORI poll I mentioned a few posts back, which showed that 47% of the British public believed the £350 million NHS lie was conducted on 23 June 2016.

Is that date significant?

Hell yes! It was the day of the actual referendum.

Really?

She was on Newsnight last night and was interviewed a number of times during the Tory conference earlier this week.

Is this leave/remain business like a war, lol

When its treated like that, no wonder they blame it on a rise in violence and hate crime.

More doom and gloom to report. New Car sales in the UK fell 20% in September compared to last year. It seems carmakers struggle to cope with change even if it is not a consequence of Brexit.

Since 1 September, all cars sold in the EU have had to undergo a new test known as the Worldwide Harmonised Light Vehicle Test Procedure. This has replaced all existing tests of emissions and fuel economy and has caused carmakers to struggle to cope.

Also on 5 live this morning it was said that German new car sales had fallen by thirty percent in the same period, wow they must be leaving as well.

Did they mean the German cars made in this country, or the ones made in Germany :)
