Legalise cannabis oil?

Recommended Posts

The ONLY people who harp on about legalising drugs, are drug users.

Those of us who dont use. dont give a damn.

find a legal hobby!

Utterly incorrect in every way.

Have you actually read what prompted this? It was in response to medical advice that it was a life threatening situation. It wasn't because someone wanted a good time. Or do you not listen to experts?

I just wonder, had she not declared that she was in possession of the cannabis oil, would she have been charged with international drug smuggling?

Anyway, the lad is to get his medication, and perhaps some good might come out of all the publicity that cannabis oil has received from his discomfort and his mother’s anguish.

Apelike , sorry to sound dim but I don't understand your point . You are saying medicinal cannabis is big business and we are main exporters of it . So if it is big business , why not allow medicinal cannabis oil here ? Please don't attack it is an honest question

Sorry but I didn't explain it very well, and the question is a valid one.. :)

I am all for making medicinal cannabis legal to use and also make but as it is big business the pharma companies have a monopoly and want to control and supply it as it makes a very lucrative profit from that. It could easily be made at home from selecting and growing the right plants or purchased already made elsewhere for a fraction of the cost. It also does not have to be oil but in some cases that is better to administer. Growing a few plants at home should be legal/decriminalised for doing just this providing it meets certain criteria otherwise that can be open to abuse.

I had a friend with MS who is no longer with us, and he used to smoke it but not the heavy strain that is skunk. Sometimes I also used to roll a joint for him with his rolling machine and I could see how it benefited him.

As for people smoking it that is their choice but it would also be better to decriminalise it for possession of small amounts. The laws about this are antiquated, just not fit for purpose and don't work so some radical change is needed.

I have a legal hobby and that is home brewing beer and wine but that was also illegal at one point and only made legal to brew at home without a licence from 1963.

Some people oppose any decriminalization of cannabis use.

Some want cannabis extracts to be used in a medical environment.

Some want cannabis extracts to be used for medical purposes.

Some want cannabis to be used for medical purposes.

Some want cannabis to make them feel better.

Some want to use cannabis.

Some want the growth of cannabis strictly controlled by those who know how to do it.

Some want grow 1 or 2 plants at home.

Some want to grow as much as they like.

Some people think that beer and wine making is legal.

Alcohol (and tobacco) use, sale and production are strictly controlled within the law-this includes making it at home. Decriminalization of alcohol production would cause serious harm and death.

No one can agree on an alternative to the current state of cannabis use. What is certain is whatever changes take place, people will continue to make money from the misery of others.

This is utter nonsense.

why is it?

both are controlled, - you can brew your own beers, but cannot sell them, without special licensing... they are only for personal consumption...

and You can grow your own tobacco, though they don't make it easy to find out if it's actually legal or not (it is) - but again, selling or trading tobacco however if caught you could be fined and will be taxed on sales made..

Specifically, the sentence ''Decriminalization of alcohol production would cause serious harm and death.''

It's a load of bs. Alcohol production is legal. It very rarely causes serious harm or death.

Cannabis oil row: Boy has epilepsy medication returned. Billy Caldwell, 12, received the oil after doctors made clear it was a "medical emergency".

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-44507135

Is this the first step towards changing our prehistoric drugs laws?

Canabis is legal in Argentina, Australia, Canada, Chile, Czech Republic, Denmark, Isreal, Italy, Mexico, Norway, Spain and Uruguay.

Two more weeks for legal cannabis use in Canada and the main manufacturing company that is set up to market it is a former Toronto police chief who hated drug use more than all crimes except murder He was like a witch hunter general when it came down to illegal drugs, now he is the top drug dealer in the land :D By the way it is also legal in 5or6 US States.

If you do grow it then you also have to notify HMRC and pay the appropriate duty even if it is for personal use.

An interesting assertion.

How is alcohol use strictly controlled?

How is production of alcohol at home strictly controlled?

How could something that is already legal be decriminalised?
