Skink   10 #1 Posted June 7, 2018 Was running late for a meeting this morning and cycling as quickly as my legs and the traffic would let me, in full Hi Viz - when this chap filtered left in front of me at about 30mph and nearly took me out (I was going straight on). It was a scary surprise, possibly for both of us  Anyhow - he pulled over, let me catch up. No shouting or anything, just a friendly "sorry mate" - only in Sheffield  Alas Karma was restored minutes later when a learner pulled out of a junction without seeing me and I nearly ended up on the bonnet - hey ho
 Share this content via...
Treeman893 Â Â 10 #2 Posted June 7, 2018 And, in the real world. Coming down the A57 from Moscar on my road bike at just over 30mph and a metre from the kerb, a car came up behind. A lorry was coming the other way so he couldn't get past. He was about 6ft behind me so I politely gestured to give me a bit more room but all I got was abuse and finger gestures as he went. Normal "cycling in Sheffield" resumes.
 Share this content via...
Skink   10 #3 Posted June 7, 2018 . . . all I got was abuse and finger gestures . . .  my guess is they're probably not from Sheffield
 Share this content via...
Treeman893 Â Â 10 #4 Posted June 8, 2018 You are right Skink, having commuted on and off by bike from 1967 to 2012 across Sheffield, I should know what to expect by now. Â The "on and off" is a bit of a pun as I have been over four cars when they pulled out without looking.
 Share this content via...
