Daven   10 #721 Posted August 1, 2018 (edited) He's a Mayor for the 21st century. One who is known and actually mixing with the public not hidden away. He's not stiff and stuffy like previous mayors whose names I can't remember. Good luck to him I say - keep up the good work mate and don't let those stuck in the past sway your wonderfully outgoing and modern persona.  I stand by the above. He's a breath of fresh air.  ---------- Post added 01-08-2018 at 10:57 ----------  Nah its just a mere coincidence that the exact same people that have an issue with THIS lord mayor but no other, also...... Support and / or dont post anything negative about them. Donald trump EDL Israels actions against Palastine Nigel Farage and Ukip To a certain extent ye olde BNP who we never really hear about these days. Brexit  Have major hatred and issues with  Muslims Mosques Immigration Refugees People of a funny colour   theres prolly a few ive missed out, feel free to fill in the blanks  These are the sad times we live in unfortunately. Let him get on with the job I say. Edited August 1, 2018 by Daven
 Share this content via...
northernboy   13 #722 Posted August 1, 2018 He has apparently sent a hand written letter to the Home Secretary about Orgreave. The letter begins "Ey up Saj". There's yet another photo of Magic squatting on a table wearing a T shirt with a slogan on it.
 Share this content via...

Top Cats Hat   10 #726 Posted August 1, 2018 The ‘letter’ is so utterly wrong, on so many levels, surely you must see this!  Maybe if you were a member of South Yorkshire's finest, worried about ending up in jail for anything from grievous bodily harm to attempting to pervert the course of justice, you would.  To most right thinking people, the mayor of Sheffield bringing up the matter of what happened at Orgreave with the Home Secretary is to be applauded. It both trivialises a very serious issue and misrepresents this city and its people, by reinforcing every commonly held prejudice and stereotype. Top Cats Hat   10 #731 Posted August 1, 2018 At least Donald doesn't use swear words as a part of his public speeches. Some of the Mayors' quotes are literally unpublishable here on SF  Given a choice between a few swear words and some of the racist, xenophobic, homophobic, misogynist, anti disabled rubbish that comes out of Trump's mouth I know what I'd rather hear! taxman   12 #732 Posted August 1, 2018 Love the phrase "Now I know your Government is famous for ruining lives"  Seems some people on here are more offended by a swear word than they are about queues for foodbanks, cuts to disabled benefits, closure of sure starts, cuts to social care etc etc  People who are offended more by swear words than by people commiting suicide due to benefit cuts either have an agenda or need to get out more.
