dutch   68 #37 Posted June 6, 2018 Two physical very beautiful good looking girls with a welcoming smile knocked on my door this weekend asking if I be interested in J.W. Oh how sorry I feel for them as I know someone personally who ruined their sexual youth joining J.W. I didn't tell them that as I respect their unconscious choice to get emotionally messed up through repression, at least they are trying. The direction they are looking will need a lot of meditation and therapy to get freed again from the chains of Jehovah. Unfortunately there was no way to explain to them what is happening to them, you have to see it with your own eyes. Someone who does meditation cannot walk up to a J.W. and explain to them what that is all about and what could happen. It is not possible, it is something free individual free from social ties and expectations.  The only thing they get right is their love, but then put that in their chains and put rules on it. Love becomes religion naturally only when it is unconditionally free from all religious churches.
 Share this content via...

Longcol   601 #39 Posted June 12, 2018 Television and the media are the greatest influences of all I reckon, they're shaping our thoughts and emotions as if they were play dough. Social attitudes would never change if it wasn't for these external influences.  I think you'll find social attitudes changed before the advent of TV and the media - think the Renaissance for example. glennpickard   10 #40 Posted June 13, 2018 I have no interest in how they dress, or the imagined places in heaven reserved for them. We all have to be able to recognize cults when we see them.  Other than the super major issue of blocking blood transfusions for minors, I can accept JWs staying on the fringe of society, with the blood transfusion issue being disallowed, subject to court/medical order. drolnhoj   15 #41 Posted June 13, 2018 Just leave them to it. I'm not sure freemasons are involved. If I am right, when armegoden comes only 40 thousand will be saved and I am not one of them, so jog on.
 Share this content via...

Longcol   601 #43 Posted June 17, 2018 I knew it wasn't my imagination that there was a lot of Jehovah activity in Sheffield. I've just been told that they are holding a big prayer meeting at the Arena next week.  They've been having annual regional conventions in Sheffield for years (see #16 - and google jehovah's witnesses uk convention sheffield).  The numbers we see on the streets (rather than door knocking) is due to a change of tactics a few years ago.  https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-28166192
 Share this content via...
redwhine   10 #44 Posted June 18, 2018 Just leave them to it. I'm not sure freemasons are involved. If I am right, when armegoden comes only 40 thousand will be saved and I am not one of them, so jog on.  The only thing I recall about Jehova's Witnesses is that they believe is there is only around 150,000 places available in Heaven but there are about 8 million believers worldwide?  It's actually 144,000...  "7:4 And I heard the number of them which were sealed: and there were sealed an hundred and forty and four thousand of all the tribes of the children of Israel. 7:5 Of the tribe of Juda were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Reuben were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Gad were sealed twelve thousand. 7:6 Of the tribe of Aser were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Nephthalim were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Manasses were sealed twelve thousand. 7:7 Of the tribe of Simeon were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Levi were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Issachar were sealed twelve thousand. 7:8 Of the tribe of Zabulon were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Joseph were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Benjamin were sealed twelve thousand." (Revelation 7)
 Share this content via...
mancmart   10 #45 Posted June 18, 2018 So if you're not from one of the twelve tribes, you don't get to heaven? What's the point then, you would be doing all this campaigning, selling all these watchtowers, just so other people can get to heaven while you sit at the gates?  Hardly fair me thinks.. I am going to one of these heavens where virgin girls with bodies of gold dressed in diamonds bathing in rivers of wine and the sun shines everyday. Flowers everywhere and every desire you wish for comes real. No matter how nice in the beginning, even that gets boring when you're stuck with it all the time. catmiss   12 #47 Posted June 22, 2018 Recently had a visit from JW and Mormons who both reacted 'sympathetically' to my atheism by saying something bad must have happened in my life to turn me away from God. A work colleague said I would end up in hell because I was an atheist, republican and a socialist. Well at least I'll be warm and have somewhere to light my fag
 Share this content via...
St Petre   85 #48 Posted June 22, 2018 Didn't they used to have an annual shindig at Hillsborough and pack the North Stand out? Biggest crowds they got there in the mid '70's.  If were talking on those lines, then a Billy Graham crusade once attracted one of Bramall Lane's highest crowd.  ---------- Post added 22-06-2018 at 23:08 ----------  I've had a few Jehovah's Witnesses walk away from my doorstep scratching their heads.Used to love to baffle them with my atheist rants, they couldn't get away fast enough lol  Another way is to answer the door with a lit cigarette, even if you don't smoke ! They will scurry away soon enough.  ---------- Post added 22-06-2018 at 23:43 ----------  If were talking on those lines, then a Billy Graham crusade once attracted one of Bramall Lane's highest crowd. ---------- Post added 22-06-2018 at 23:08 ----------   Another way is to answer the door with a lit cigarette, even if you don't smoke !
