Janus   28 #1 Posted May 17, 2018 I'm keen to find somewhere fairly secure to leave a new bike while going round town occasionally. Not over night, just for 2 or 3 hours in an evening.  Does anyone know if there are any cycle cages where you can padlock your cycle inside, and the precise location? Thanks. Mouserat   10 #3 Posted May 17, 2018 Not cycle cages, but it might be worth considering the Cycle Hub at Sheffield station:- http://russellsbicycleshed.co.uk/cycles-trains-at-sheffield/
 Share this content via...
WalkleyIan   10 #4 Posted May 17, 2018 +1 for the station hub. One off 10 quid fee gets you a key fob to open the door which is loads cheaper than anywhere else (Leeds, for example, is £1.50 day)  24 hour access, CCTV, still need a good lock mind you as occasionally get tailgaters coming in  ---------- Post added 17-05-2018 at 16:05 ----------  in fact an update on that. Leeds is shutting down it's station cycle hub while Sheffield has expanded its due to high demand  https://www.yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk/news/setback-for-users-of-cycle-hub-at-leeds-city-station-1-9114702
 Share this content via...
ShefStealth   10 #5 Posted May 18, 2018 The only Cycle Lockers that I've actually seen are the ones at Ponds Forge. They're located in the car park near the steps. It's a little dark/shady though as it's under cover, but the lockers themselves look sturdy and seem to be covered by CCTV. You'll still need your regular bike lock in addition to a padlock for the locker itself.
 Share this content via...
Gricehead   10 #6 Posted May 18, 2018 There are some in the corner of the car park where the old Fire station was, off Rockingham Street.
 Share this content via...
