Bob Arctor   11 #386 Posted July 11, 2018 Kane is having one of his least effective games for ages.  Yep, he is. Kind of bad timing from his point of view. He's done better as a midfielder today than as a striker.
 Share this content via...
tinfoilhat   11 #387 Posted July 11, 2018 Getting tense. Getting a bit "old" England - sloppy passes.
 Share this content via...
MAC33 Â Â 10 #388 Posted July 11, 2018 If England do get to the final....Danny Rose has to play in place of Ashley Young. Â He's shown more since he came on than Young did in the regulation 90 minutes. Â And not for the first time either. Â There's no place for sentiment. Â Taking Sterling off when he appeared still full of running was a strange call. He was also playing very well. Â McGuire funnily enough, looks their most creative players when he pushes into midfield. Exceptional talent.
 Share this content via...

Waldo   96 #391 Posted July 11, 2018 Super Mario did it!!!  ---------- Post added 11-07-2018 at 21:23 ----------   Sure, it's coming home.  Nah, we aren't aggressive or cheating (acting etc) enough; qualities which seemingly count for more than skill in football. Bob Arctor   11 #392 Posted July 11, 2018 Nah, we aren't aggressive or cheating (acting etc) enough; qualities which seemingly count for more than skill in football.  That isn't why. Croatia were better and England were a bit bobbins if truth be told, especially in the second half. If they want to beat teams as good as Croatia they need better midfield play, not hoofing it forward and hoping for the best. tinfoilhat   11 #393 Posted July 11, 2018 I don't know where the Croats got the energy from in extra time. They were the better side, well played.
 Share this content via...
MAC33 Â Â 10 #394 Posted July 11, 2018 England got arguably the easiest draw ever to get to the semi final - this should not be forgotten. Â Not convinced this England team is any better than the most recent teams. Â MuGuire is a big find though. Â On another note - the break away in the second period of extra time by Croatia when the player shot from the the edge of the area and missed...... Â Well, had he passed the ball square there was an unmarked player for a tap in!! Â Seriously, that had to be seen to be believed. Watch it again! Watch it again!  What an easy draw like Sweden who beat France and Holland in qualifying, beat Italy in the play offs and were narrowly beaten by Germany in the group stages? We made it look easy.  It's a better TEAM. Players knew their roles, which I wasn't expecting but some fresh faces did well. Stones isn't a Ferdinand or Campbell and alli and lingard aren't gerrard and lampard.  Is it a missed opportunity? To an extent yes.
