Longcol   602 #49 Posted June 14, 2018 They'd be doing well to finish second in the SPL.  So would Scotland.
 Share this content via...
whiteowl   54 #50 Posted June 14, 2018 Saudi Arabia off to a very promising start in their quest to be "Worst team ever to qualify for the World Cup Finals".  Going up to 48 teams by 2026 - I assume a round of 32 then a round of 16 ? What's the point of the qualifying period ?  UEFA should give themselves a couple of wildcards for the Euro's and invite Brazil and Argentina. At least it would be worth watching
 Share this content via...

MAC33 Â Â 10 #52 Posted June 15, 2018 The increase to 48 teams would be a disaster if implemented. Â Can you imagine watching another 16 teams of around the quality of Saudi Arabia? Â Complete bore fest.
 Share this content via...
EmmaJones76   10 #53 Posted June 15, 2018 The increase to 48 teams would be a disaster if implemented. Can you imagine watching another 16 teams of around the quality of Saudi Arabia?  Complete bore fest.  Except they wouldnt all be around the same quality of Saudi Arabia. Over 30 clubs in the world rankings above them didnt qualify for this event.  ---------- Post added 15-06-2018 at 08:17 ----------  Going up to 48 teams by 2026 - I assume a round of 32 then a round of 16 ?  No. Group stage, 16 x 3 teams. Top two qualify for the Last 32, so still 7 matches needed to win the title, but 16 more games overall. Still will take the same amount of time to play though. SpiderPete   10 #54 Posted June 15, 2018 Only saw the 2nd half of Russia vs Saudi Arabia and must say SA were pathetic, their goal keeper was abysmal  the only reason Russia won so easy is their opponents made them look good, will be a different task when playing Egypt and Uruguay.  How SA qualified is beyond me, when teams like Italy and Holland and Chile are not even there.
