Improving city roads?

Recommended Posts

City wants £300m to repair roads:

It will cost more than £300m to get Sheffield's roads up to standard, according to the city council.

Officials are preparing a bid for the cash from the government in the hope of securing half of the £600m being made available nationally for road repairs.

The Private Finance Initiative would see Sheffield's entire highways network fixed and upgraded, including minor roads, verges, bridges and pavements.

A decision on the "ambitious" bid is expected by the end of the year.
