High temperature red paint

Recommended Posts

I have reconditioned an old oil lamp which was originally painted red. When I light it the top chamber gets very hot and the paint melts. It needs some high temperature paint such as they use on the brake callipers of cars. The trouble is that it's only available in spray cans and it's expensive and I only need a tiny quantity, say5ml, for the top of my lamp. What can I do?

You can get small tins on eBay for around £5

Tomtom66, thanks very much. I'll have a look right now....Got it. £6.99 post free. The matching red, too. There are 2 reds on offer. Great.
