EmmaJones76 Â Â 10 #85 Posted May 15, 2018 (edited) Its quite obvious what happened, well to my mind it is anyway. He sped up to get through the lights from the casino/dog track (forget the name of that road), and rather than joining the 2nd lane on Penistone Road, he swerved round the queue that was forming so he could join the inside lane instead. Â This somehow has translated as "MURDERER SPEEDS UP AND SWERVES TO KILL INNOCENT ANIMALS" on here and other social media outlets. monkey104   10 #89 Posted May 15, 2018 Out of curiosity I did a search on YouTube ‘ ducks ran over’. Don’t do it! It’s carnage. You would not believe how prevalent it is. On a happier note, many years ago I was driving my Military police car through the town in York when I noticed a duck and her brood trying to cross the 2 lane road from the central reservation. A car in the outside lane stopped to let her cross but traffic in the inside lane didn’t know what the car had stopped for and just kept on. Fortunately the ducks kept returning to the central reservation. I was able to stop traffic with my car and let the ducks cross safely. I do wonder though, how many get killed each year just on that one stretch of road.
 Share this content via...

alsatian   10 #91 Posted May 15, 2018 (edited) It's hard call on whether it was intentional. If it was intentional, was it for fun or just because they didn't care at all and just wanted the lights. If it wasn't, what world were they in? Too busy staring at the lights as they rushed for them?  They must have been utterly distracted or blind to not see those ducks. You can tell from the video that car was far enough away and with a clear view to see those ducks and take evasive action easily.  So definitely driving without due care at a minimum.  Also, it looks like they have the drivers reg plate but was intentionally blurred out? If so there may be some justice after all. Edited May 15, 2018 by alsatian
 Share this content via...
