The one next to the Cremorne on London Road is very good, it is/was called Mao's.

The BEST place is the Dim Sum restaurant on London Road

What sort of price range is it for an evening meal?

Not had a 'proper' Chinese in ages.

Candy Town and Golden Dragon always used to be good, but not been to either recently.

If you don't mind travelling, the one in the old Flouch pub at the far end of the Stocksbridge bypass is lovely. Not cheap but fab food.

No ones mentioned the Canton Orchard, Fulwood. Excellent food and setting - a little pricey, but it's worth it!

Jabu on London Road is my favourite for a slightly more unusual chinese meal - chinese dumplings and fondue- about £25 for 2, bring your own beer, and its mega delicious. Also on london rd love noodle inn for tea and candy town for nice dinner and jumbos in town for a saturday hangover!
