Newsagent's Oughtibridge- fire 08/03/2018

Just heard there was a serious fire at Nicholson's newsagents, bottom of Church Street Oughtibridge yesterday afternoon. Anyone know anything more? Just hope no one was injured:shocked:

The man that owns the shop got out ok as the place went up. No-one was injured but the damage is bad. There is no roof left on the front and Jade Garden is closed due to smoke damage and the family cant live in the premises.

I really feel for Lewis and Doreen , the business has been there for decades and originally belonged to Ken and Syliva ( Lewis`s parents ) . Ive known Lewis all my life . Im so shocked at this. I only popped in there on Monday and was speaking with him.

I drove past on Thursday as they were waiting outside. Drove past today and there were builders or workmen doing something to the building. Glad everyone got out Ok, didn't look good at all.
