Quite possibly.....the OP could check google maps I suppose...

Doesn't always have the info you want though, right now it's not actually showing any information for most of Snake Pass, even though we know it's shut.

Anyone know if Winnats Pass is open

I don’t believe so, but the woodhead pass is now open.

I regularly drive to Manchester (airport) and never use the M62, Snake or Woodhead.

Of course, Manchester airport isn't Manchester, but part of this route may help the OP?

If I was beginning in Manchester instead of Manchester airport I'd go the following route:

Manchester towards Manchester airport.

Styal.

Handforth.

Adlington.

Pott Shrigley.

Whaley Bridge.

Chapel en le Frith.

Castleton.

Hope, Bamford, Hathersage, Sheffield.

The tricky bit this weather would be getting into Castleton from Chapel. So an alternative would be:

Chapel en le Frith.

Sparrowpit.

Taddington.

Ashford in the Water.

Hassop.

Grindleford.

Fox House.

Sheffield.

The M62 over the pennines is fully open with light traffic and good road conditions.

Manchester Airport Relief Road.

Later this year a new dual carriageway will connect Manchester Airport with the A6 east of Hazel Grove.

A6-A623 peak forest is generally the most reliable but even that was closed until this morning

Derby Tup in post 19 has the best route altho’ in weather conditions such as recently the Pott Shrigley Whaley Bridge bit is a tad exposed. Normally, on that route, you never get delayed. Not sure the new Hazel Grove dual carriageway will help us that much as it’s a real pain up the A6 etc to Hazel Grove
