Blades Vs Burton

Recommended Posts

No matter where we finish, its been a very productive season. at worse we can look back on the Bouncing day massacre, the massive gap, and the fact we gained safety at a very early stage in our first season back in the Championship.

We have a respected manager, some valued players too..HAPPY DAYS.

Another one that bases achievement on how Wednesday do, it never ends.

McCabe will be rubbing his hands if he reads that last line.

An excellent win against a battling Burton side.

The season is well and truly still alive.

Brooks coming back from his illness.

A league position in mid-March that nobody could realistically expect.

A manager who is proactive, realistic and ambitious.

Some clubs would love what we have.

Indeed, it's been a great season no matter what happens now.

The football may not be as sharp as it was at the start of the season, but we're still clearly out playing most teams in this league, and since the new signings in January, we've started picking up results again.

We're still there with something to play for, anything could happen!

It's always that type of division isn't it,you're either battling for direct promotion or the play offs,or to avoid being relegated,I think only teams like QPR and Ipswich aren't one or the other.

Correct. Hotel booked near Wembley for 26th May. I'll be going whether we get there or not.

I didn't bother because Top told me that we weren't in the race for the play offs a few months back. :(

Personally, I don't think we will make a place in the play-offs.

What give you the buzz though, is where we have come from.

The Dog and Duck, straight from the chip shop league, to play-off contenders.

To be 21pts ahead of our massive neighbours makes it even better.

We wouldn't be able to cope - they said.

Some of them even believe we are a 'direct' team.

Under Wilder, the team give everything and all players look comfortable on the ball.

We have a team / club spirit our neighbours can only dream of.

You're not allowed to mention them or we're obsessed and our only achievements are bettering them...

I was impressed by the pace and power of Burton, they just let themselves down in the final third, seemed a bit clumsy and tripped over their own feet, sort of stuff. Two good goals from us, and the quick pass from Billy to Duffy, and then the superb pass from Duffy to young Brooks, slicing through their defenders was great to watch.

Duffy, on his day, is outstanding, but I also thought Baldock had a great game again, he made two superb slide tackles, inch perfect and went in hard on the ball, if he had been clumsy he would have taken the man out as well and probably yellow carded.

Off topic, but like I said before, don't bet against Lord Warnock getting top spot.

I'd be careful with the mutual back slapping, we all know how it usually ends.

Remember the 8 point gap and the game in hand.
