UK has seen its first conviction for FGM:

Not bad, considering FGM was made illegal nearly 30 years ago. . . .

1 conviction in 30 years.

Let's hope the miscreant gets a long, headline grabbing spell in prison that makes the front pages, and maybe acts as a warning to others.

In your opinion are women treated equally to men under Islam?

Don't think you got an answer?

The others you refer to Anna only recognise one law , and its not the law of this Country that comes a distinctive second in their and their so called leaders eyes.

The woman in question is from Uganda, 4 5ths of the population are Christian and Christians are quite happy to partake in FGM. It's not a religious  thing it's a cultural thing.

Doesn't the illegal FGM on Children take place without any anesthetic been used, and is carried out by  unqualified people. Where as the operations done on Ladies to "enhance their female genitalia" is performed under anesthesia by a competent medical professional. The two acts are incomparable to each other in any way.

That's  what I think, what's  took them so long, they have just been pussy footing around all these years. They know of many many more so why don't  they do justice for these poor young girls.

No, they have been waiting for the victims to agree to testify in court given that the perpertrators are mostly all living abroad.

Not many people would do something that would put their parents in jail for up to 14 years when it means that you will almost certainly end up in care!

Moreover, the adult women who elect to have surgery are doing so in genuine informed consent.  No child can be said to have done so.

Its fun watching the left twist themselves in knots over this because they don't know where to position themselves on this issue, just because of the communities that are doing it. Its the same with Halal, and forced/arranged marriages. They have no truck with these things but they don't want to be seen to be going against ethnic "minorities".

Just shows how these people still  have primative ideas and we let them in the country, they are 300 years behind us.
