alchresearch   215 #37 Posted April 10, 2018 Labour's John McDonnell reacted scathingly to the idea - "a party of the rich, by the rich, for the rich"  While conveniently forgetting about all the rich donors the Labour party has had in recent times.  Or is he just bitter because:  Labour's biggest donors abandon party and pump £140k into leadership challengers https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/politics/Jeremy_Corbyn/12190512/Labours-biggest-donors-abandon-party-and-pump-140k-into-leadership-challengers.html
 Share this content via...

monkey104   10 #39 Posted April 10, 2018 How do you work that out? https://whatukthinks.org/eu/questions/if-a-second-eu-referendum-were-held-today-how-would-you-vote/  Looking at the pattern it would depend what month a referendum was held and how intense project fear would be. gomgeg   10 #40 Posted April 10, 2018 Sir Nick Clegg: Breakaway party 'highly likely'. I am not aware if he is talking about the party linked to by the OP.  http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-43697543  I have heard Vince Cable mention a new party, and not rule it out. Maybe the LD brand is tainted and will not increase in popularity for some years to come. As a Liberal Democrat myself, I am not set in stone to one party, lets see what the policies are. But the important thing, is to get elected. I wouldn't take much notice of what Clegg and Cable say, just offer them a cabinet post and they'll change their minds. They've both got form for that. They've both got form for that.  They gave the country stability, at a time when the Governments spending was out of control. I believe that Sterling strengthened at the time. alchresearch   215 #42 Posted April 11, 2018 Going back to the original topic, the website has now got a bit more content and candidates.  https://renewbritain.org/candidates/  But very little media coverage. How does a new voice like this get heard by the media who only focus on Red and Blue?
 Share this content via...
davyboy   19 #43 Posted April 11, 2018 I thought this was a joke. A party for the people by the people????????? It is a joke
 Share this content via...

How does a new voice like this get heard by the media who only focus on Red and Blue?  All has been quiet with the red and blue parties, unless you count Barry Gardiner calling Labours Brexit policy bollocls.  With Corbyn so far to the left, the moderates are not speaking out, or defect. There must be a great deal of anger, there will be defections.  http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-43710728
 Share this content via...

Mister Gee   824 #47 Posted April 11, 2018 But you obviously prefer to live in a country which allows you to voice your far left views, and long may it be so, but would you advocate the same if comrade Corbyn and Co took control?  If Corbyn does get in it'll be interesting to see the establishments reaction. Murdoch and Dacre are pulling out all the stops to make sure he doesn't and all the young un's seem to be putting the dots together between Capitalism, The Conservative Party, Neolibralism and Democracy.
