Stale cigarette odour.

Recommended Posts

How do I get rid of the smell? Is there something I can spray on the carpets and upholstery. I've heard you can use baking soda/vinegar and other stuff. Has anyone tried it? Thanks.

Guess I'll need a lot for the whole house? The smoke smell is really stale as the previous owner was a heavy smoker.

It'll probably need more drastic measures, replacing carpets, furnishings and redecorating.

Yep, find a carpet and upholstery cleaning service and get a full deep clean. Plenty advertise on Facebook groups and classified sites.

If you're renting furnished, get the landlord to pay.

Start smoking.

You'll not smell anything, then.

it's not just carpets, soft furnishings etc that will be holding the oudor, we stopped somking over 10 years ago, and bit by bit we went through the house replacing items and redecorating, the smell from the old wallpaper was vile as we were stripping it off.

Fabreze spray

That’s ambitious, it’s like putting out a house fire with a bottle of water

If they are provided as part of a "furnished" contract for the property, then it's the landlords responsibility to clean/remove smells and replace items that are soiled etc...
