Mildly inconvenienced at worst. He'll find another job.

But he won't if his skin colour is a barrier... do you not see the irony in your comment?

He's white.

Your question is flawed demonstrating a lack of understanding of the Equality Act and recruitment when using Positive Action. Try to simplify it so it can work without having to resort to assumptions.

My question is illustrating the actual scenario. Your question is an irrelevant distraction based on dishing out fivers. And you have the audacity to say mine is the flawed one?

Exactly. So based on "positive action" he's going to lose out every time he's equally qualified. Do you really strive for equality or do you just hate white men?

Exactly - so if black people automatically have an advantage just for being black, then he's going to struggle.

Unless you're now claiming that black people aren't as disadvantaged to try and prove your point...

Lol, maybe a scenario in your head.

An an employer that, what was it, 'suddenly realises'?

Brilliant 😊

Nonsense. That assumes that positive action happens across the board, which it clearly doesn't.  Besides, since black and ethnic minority people represent only 13% of the population, so frankly, you're getting your knickers in a twist about nothing.

The employer realises that, through no fault of Person A, they have previously given too many jobs to people who share Person A's skin colour.

That's the part, thanks

Once again, brilliant.

If you're going to try and replicate the real world, at least make it believable and how an employer would actually recruit and not some fantasy to satisfy your own agenda.

Frankly, your argument is that discrimination is ok going one way, but unacceptable going the other. It's not just about race, it's gender, sexuality, religion, etc etc. There should be no discrimination either way.

I don't get what you're trying to explain with this analogy - all you're saying is that, if everyone is given £10 then that's equality.

But it depends on the person's situatuation who is receiving it as to whether it's fair or not.

And, why is someone randomly dishing out £10s??

You don't need to dig that deep.

There is no 'situation' for a person to get the £10.

So what is the point of your analogy, other than to say it's fair if everyone is given £10?
