Battersea dogs home begging in Sheffield

Recommended Posts

Here are some struggling south yorks charities who don't pay their executives in the hundreds of thousands and who desperately need money for animals in south yorkshire.:

south yorkshire animal rescue domestic pets and wildlife - http://www.syar.org.uk

Rain rescue - domestic animals http://www.rainrescue.co.uk

Thornberry animal sanctuary: http://www.thornberryanimalsanctuary.org

Sheffield cat shelter: http://www.thesheffieldcatsshelter.org

sheffield dog rescue: https://www.sheffield-dog-rescue.org.uk

Rotherham dog rescue: http://rotherham-dog-rescue.co.uk

There are others too, just ask on the pets page for a list.

The combined income won't touch the millions that Battersea gets so PLEASE give local not to an emormously wealthy London charity.

Well said.

Duncan Green, CEO Battersea Dogs Home, earns £85,000 p.a.

A quick search shows that figure dates back to 2003.

According to the accounts published on the Charity Commission website, in 2016 one employee was paid between £130,000 and £140,000, and seven employees were paid between £60,000 and £90,000.

the ceo is Claire Horton

to get info

1. search on the charity vcomission website

look at the most recent accounts 2016

http://apps.charitycommission.gov.uk/Accounts/Ends94/0000206394_AC_20161231_E_C.pdf

page 28 gives salary as: 140-150k highest paid

BUT also note same page it says the key personnel get an additional 800,000 in 'benefits' includes obligatory pension payments but still cranks up a salary by a considerable amount.

Charities have got wise to the shock total executive renumeration causes and so individuals total salary plus benefits does tend to be hidden in other categories. I am not an accountant but this is what it looks like to me.

Another point is although the income was £41 million they only spent £27 million......

Charity as a business.

If you look at it, less than 1/3rd got spent on looking after dogs (and cats?) their "profit" came close to the amount they spent on doing what they claim to do !

I always thought "leaving all my money to battersea dogs home" was a jokey threat to kids n grandkids but with assets of 75m and income of 41 looks like plenty follow through :-/
