Guest makapaka   #1237 Posted April 2, 2018 When will you be selling it then? I've already told you I'm not playing that game. Work it out for yourself why being anti-car is a bad thing.  I won’t be.  You can’t answer the question can you.  You’ll also have to knock the greens off your list of alternatives capable of victory. They have specific anti car policies.  Leaves you just with the Lib Dem’s. What is their policy on cars?
 Share this content via...

cgksheff   44 #1240 Posted April 2, 2018 Has tree felling stopped or am I on wrong thread  There has been a pause in the work on trees where the necessity is likely to be disputed.  Work is continuing on trees that are diseased and where such work is not being disputed by STAG. STAG are being advised, in advance, of such works.
 Share this content via...

paula4sheff   10 #1247 Posted April 9, 2018 In a city with over half a million residents, a few hundred campaigners have stopped tree-felling. Democracy in action?  I thought the debate and discussion had moved on. It's quite obviously about so much more than trees, and a few hundred people, as reading any of the huge amount of articles and information written on the subject, across many news outlets, shows.  The fact that some people aren't bothering to read the full story doesn't make it any less true - and the old '"it's just a few protesters, they should let them get on with it" line that's reeled out by people who haven't investigated the wider issue is just either trolling, or a willful attempt not to engage with the broader debate.  ---------- Post added 09-04-2018 at 13:36 ----------  Maybe we should hold a demonstration in opposition to the tree campaigners! fill   10 #1248 Posted April 9, 2018 (edited) I thought the debate and discussion had moved on. It's quite obviously about so much more than trees, and a few hundred people, as reading any of the huge amount of articles and information written on the subject, across many news outlets, shows.  .  im thinking amey have slowed or perhaps even stopped their assault on the trees of sheffield not because they have given in... far from it  i reckon its tactics .. more of a case of leave it for a year or two and then start again... then it will be ..Oh no not that old tree thing again let em chop the lot down and lets have an end to it.  or maybe its ..... let the shoddy road repairs issue take the spotlights for a bit and we will be able to chop down anything we want with hardly a breath of protest being heard.  iv'e complained to the council about amey and their practices to no avail but how many others have percieved them for what they apparently are and done nothing  and don't get me wrong some of their employees are seemingly fine and decent people it is the company its modus operandi and its apparent ethos that i object to and of course that the council has not yet sent them packing Edited April 9, 2018 by fill
 Share this content via...
