Council tree felling...

Recommended Posts

SYP are quite fond of arresting people who are doing nothing wrong on completely spurious grounds, then the charges are quietly dropped later. Such as the arrest for "racially aggravated harassment", or the one where a slight 74 year old man was arrested for allegedly intimidating a witness (a 20 stone bouncer). Of course while waiting for these ludicrous charges to be dropped there are bail conditions preventing these protesters from demonstrating.

It is still the case that not a single protester arrested at a tree felling has been prosecuted for any crime, although some charges are still pending. So far the CPS has dropped every single case before it came to trial.

Furthermore a complaint of unlawful arrest, by one of the main protestors, was recently upheld against SYP.

Was it SYP's Special Branch?

So the local elections are over.

Is that the buzz of chainsaws I hear starting up?[/quote

Let's hope so.

Yeah - cutting down healthy trees is a wonderful thing to look forward to, that improves all our lives. Let's hope they go back to that.

If you genuinely think that (which I'm sure you don't) you must be stark staring mad.

Thanks for that - I think (without knowing more) he made a complaint to Professional Standards and (again with knowing more) he says that they acknowledge some fault.

Unless he made a complaint to the IPCC.

All a bit vague.

I note STAG's press release claims 5 gains from Labour by the Greens and Lib Dems.

Sums not STAG's strong point?

Usually, gains refer to since the last full election rather than since by-elections so Mosborough would count as a gain for the Lib Dems.

Lib Dem Gains:

Mosborough

West Ecclesfield

Crookes and Crosspool

Green Gains:

City

Broomhill & Sharrow Vale

Strange that no-one else is reporting it as five gains and all reporting that the Lib Dems retained Mosborough.

Can't recall anyone saying back in 2016 the Lib Dems victory in Mosborough was anything to do with trees.

The BBC are showing it as plus 3.

Labour gained East Ecclesfield from UKIP. For them to be down four overall they must have lost five areas to the LibDems and Greens.
