I say 'Please may I have'. 'Can I get' is incorrect and stupid.

I use 'can I have'. Though I do get muddled up between 'each other' and 'one another'.

... or watch a lot of American things.

 

I don't even think people have to see a lot of it either to be influenced by it. I tend to notice different ways of asking for things (in this example), when spoken in different accents.
