spilldig   185 #73 Posted November 3, 2017 Partly. But equally it's just his tone that gets to me. This is a discussion thread. The argument ones are in General! However, I was just posting the actual evidence that was lacking so we could continue a discussion without the he said she said type argument that was going on. I'm a bit impressed he knew about rhe HCA link but I'm still not sure that gives the council the say so on the land.  I prefer to look on any thread as a debate as opposed to an argument, whether in Sheffield discussions or General. cgksheff   44 #76 Posted November 6, 2017 It didn't provide the income that the retail outlets do.  Trains and passengers are an inconvenience to the operating company's revenue plans.
 Share this content via...

Takes about 1 hour 45 minutes.  ---------- Post added 07-11-2017 at 02:22 ----------  hi can I get a train to Scunthorpe from dronfield?,that would solve my problem  Further to previous response, try National Rail Enquiries at; http://ojp.nationalrail.co.uk/service/planjourney/search  There may be other options from Dore & Totley, like the 8.04 that goes direct to Scunthorpe in exactly an hour to arrive at 9.04. Planner1 Â Â 428 #80 Posted November 9, 2017 Remind me: what was wrong with the old drop-off/pick-up area directly under the Station's canopy? Â Didn't do much for the look and feel of the gateway into Sheffield, did it? Â You can't argue that the new arrangement at the front of the station and onwards into the city centre doesn't look a whole lot better than it used to. Many of them will never see the frontage at all.  Come to that the approach from Supertram is hardly awe inspiring either.
 Share this content via...

The only comments I hear from people coming to Sheffield by rail is how amazing the area in front of the station now looks and how much improved the walk up to the city centre is.  A lot of people come into the station and walk to the city centre.  ---------- Post added 10-11-2017 at 11:05 ----------  You can argue however that it's a damn site less functional. For car drivers and taxis maybe.  For pedestrians and cyclists (there's a cycle hub now) it's a lot better now.
 Share this content via...
