How does it work though with him being the current sitting MP?

Does Labour HQ pop down and tell him they won't allow him to stand as a Labour MP for this seat?

Who will Hallam get?

An sitting MP can very easily be "deselected" for an election and someone else chosen to run for the seat instead

Fairly sure this is an outright lie as well:

when the scandal deepened last autumn, he cancelled his MP surgeries, but he denies this. “No, no, no. That was never the case.”

The surgeries were cancelled were they not??

He completely disappeared for several months.

Yes, and I guess once parliament has been dissolved before an election he's not a sitting MP anyway, just another candidate.

£70,000 isn't a bad recompense for the hubbub he's endured.

Currently, he is not considered a Labour Party member so would not be included on any lists of candidates until that is changed.

Once an election is called then applications are invited for people, within the party, to put their names forward.

If you're really interested in the process then I can supply links to the, rather boring, process & rules.

The press certainly thought so.

His article in the Star read like a man desperately trying to prove he is doing something. 68 questions hey?

Why should Corbyn bother with a twit like him? He’s my MP and other than for the lack of flyers in our mail box, I don’t see any difference to the days of Nick Clegg, albeit Clegg might just have had a pop at Amey over their over zealous attitude to arboriculture.

At least Clegg bothered to turn up for work, either here or in London.

When the news broke about Omara the first thing he did was pull a 3 month sickie :roll::roll::roll:

Helped 3,000 people? Seems to be a very exact figure?

And the average MP's salary has just gone up in April to £77,379. A 1.8% increase on the 2017 salary for those only getting a 1% rise.

57 people a week.

It would have been interesting to have known who would have been selected if the CLP had thought they could win.
