Jared Omara MP ..

nikki-red

We understand that this is an emotive subject, and discussing the facts is totally fine.
Posting insults is not.
Jared is local to us, and could well be a member of the forum, we dont allow name calling and insults on other threads and they arent acceptable on this one either.

why wait this long to complain ??? seems to be the fashion recently?

Having watched the complainant on Look North, it seems that this was only last week or so.   Apparently he posted comments on WhatsApp that ran to 17 paragraphs in the middle of the night.

O'Mara's also issued a lengthy apology, (not a denyal), in which he states he should have resigned ages ago.

Wow,  no wonder he's sticking around, its like he's won the lottery.

Sounds like £30000 + reasons why he'll change his mind & not resign.

If he's saying he's resigning in September, why can't they get rid now.Should never have been elected in first place, what were people thinking? All that money for doing nothing?

*-My bold.

People generally have more  enthusiasm in voting against things - sad but true.

In Sheffield Hallam's case ,along with much of the nation, voters were voting against the Lib Dem's because they sacrificed their General Election promise to scrap tuition fees. The fact that they were part of a coalition with the Conservatives to the tune of  57 with the Conservative 306 (18.6%) didn't seem to register as relevent with the voters.

Maybe it was or maybe it wasn't  - history marks it down as a mistake.

What a scummy man...and of course he blamed it on his 'issues'.

Just to add, you dont post comments on WhatsApp. Its a direct messaging app.

Yea I think we'll need to wait till September to see if this actually happens or not.

It's the Parliament summer holiday in a couple of days don't you know??

Why resign now when he can sit on his arse for 6 weeks collecting a tidy pay packet for doing absolutely nothing.

Notwithstanding the lad's mental health issues, he's an MP... lies, inappropriate behaviour, hypocrisy, self-aggrandisement...

Essential characteristics of our "elected" representatives. ..paging Boris...

What is so galling is that until he actually resigns or waits for the next election nobody not even parliament can do anything about it (or even appear to want to do anything about it). In the meantime the Hallam constituents continue to suffer and be unrepresented

Absolute shambles, very worrying that everyone seems to have full access to the Parliamentary network without having security clearance.

IMO now the speaker has grounds to issue a recall petition, it's beyond incompetence.  Sexual harassment, providing access to government systems, breach of GDPR.

Someone needs to step in and put a stop it all.
