O’Mara is not medically qualified, so he can’t make such a request as an ‘expert’ .

It's clearly some document that he has to sign as her MP not for medical expert opinion.  

 

Well before this latest incident, the BBC, just after he announced his intention to resign, were telling of constituents who were trying to get him to help them / represent them for a variety of reasons over problems such as housing, benefits etc. 

 

Failing to represent but still taking the salary.

In his early days much work was done by his assistant, a very capable lady who used to fulfil the same role effectively and well for the last Labour MP in NE Derbyshire. After she left things went from bad to worse. I know written questions were submitted in his name by his clerical staff. He may not have known much about them. Most were probably submitted almost as requested by an individual or pressure group.

I think given today's news the boy wonder needs to pack his gold lamé cape and head off to vote next week. If he actually exercised his duty this one time, then maybe... (dunno what the maybe is, but from one human to another it might go some small way to controlling his demons).

Jared O’Mara has 'postponed' his resignation as an MP.

The Sheffield Hallam MP submitted his resignation papers at the beginning of August, postdated until Parliament’s return today. But the Treasury say he has written to the Chancellor in the last week asking him to postpone the process of his resignation.
