Jared Omara MP ..

nikki-red

We understand that this is an emotive subject, and discussing the facts is totally fine.
Posting insults is not.
Jared is local to us, and could well be a member of the forum, we dont allow name calling and insults on other threads and they arent acceptable on this one either.

In which case, I apologise to Mr Hackey.

This whole thread should really get whooshed by magic wand into the “All things Labour” megathread anyway. Not much point in having a megathread and not using it:cool:

No problem  Yes I had already read post 639 but in that post it said he was still under investigation and ive heard nothing about it since

Once Jared has been allowed back into the Labour fold then that would be the sensible way.

What exactly is the situation with Omara , ? Is he still suspended while Labour investigate the allegations ? Or has he been cleared and its all been hushed up ?

Labour have kicked the issue into the longest grass possible. I can only think that Labour doesn't want this to disrupt their campaigns for mayor and council.

Everyone saw this coming last year when he disappeared, take a long holiday while it all blows over and slither back out from under his rock in the new year.

It's too late for that. The fact that there hasn't been a by-election yet has just bottled up even more anger in the constituency.

Labour should have dealt with it decisively as soon as the story came out - like the Tories did with Toby Young

You keep on spouting this nonsense. It has been pointed out to you before that it isn't possible to sack an MP. You can sack a self publicising, eugenics supporting oik. That's what the Tories did.

You will, of course, notice that whilst Young has been sacked, Anne Marie Morris remains as an MP, with the Tory whip.

Perhaps but I'm not sure they realistically expect to take other seats in the constituency apart from Crookes & Crosspool if they instead look at the wider Sheffield picture having what would be a minor national and regional news story in O'Mara questioning their collective judgement is hardly going to help matters. O'Mara has rarely been spoken about recently which must be their goal.

They could have moved the process along quickly and exercised the demon from the Labour party instead, the investigation is still ongoing, questions still remain.

got to say it has been a long investigation :suspect:

The Chakrabarti Inquiry into antisemitism has been going on nearly 2 years.

They'll just be waiting for a major national crisis or royal wedding or something so they can bury the story that they've found their MP is actually as much of a misogynistic homophobic scumbag as his writings have clearly evidenced to the world

Or they hope for a national election before they conclude their investigation and then O'Mara's guilt or innocence ceases to be news as he would not be reselected.

The voters were stupid enough to elect him in the first place, don't count out that they may well be stupid enough to elect him again.

Not that I heard, is he even going to bother?
