I agree.  Also every US Presidential election is drawn out over a long period of time.  Four year terms seem short given the amount of time and money spent for each election.  I don't think having early voting and different rules in different US states regarding postal and absentee votes help in trusting the system.  Our own relative quick  General Election campaigns are much better than the US system. However, the UK sent out the wrong message to the World regarding the EU referendum because of all those who fought to overturn that democratic result. It's not only Trump who is a bad advert for democracy.

Political opposition is a "bad advert for democracy"? Seriously?

I don't recall remainers camping outside polling stations with shotguns, or chanting "stop the vote" or "count the vote" according to exit polls for the location. Do you?

I *do* remember plenty of 'snowflake' and 'we won get over it' comments from leavers, however, with the exact same non-inclusive, rubbishing manner as MAGA voters in late 2016. Nothing to do with fact-informed politics, all to do with 'winning' (...what, exactly?)

Who are now proving themselves to be either the biggest snowflakes, or the most cretinous, in the US, then?

Yes, Trump is probably the Word's biggest snowflake.  Trump is looking like a sore loser just like many remainers are sore losers. Sore losers like Trump and the remainers are not a good advert for democracy. It's ironic that many remainers have one thing in common with Trump.

Sore losers are commonplace.

Sore “winners”such as Farage and his followers are something else.

I am expecting Biden to take Georgia now because it is just mail in ballots being counted now and they are generally breaking 3:1 for Biden if not better.

Watching the Politics Show earlier on bbc2, Andrew Neil was saying it could take days before a winner is announced.

That the voting re- count being touted by Trump and his supporters,  is serious given the 1% lead.

Its worrying that some supporters of Trump have taken to demonstrate whilst armed.

This just shows what his presidency has led to, how it has shaped America in the 4 years. He's divided people and is going to do worse if he shockingly wins another term.

I have never seen anything like it in a Western world election. It's absolutely shameful.

When we see images of gun-toting nutjobs protesting in the streets, making ridiculous threats and spouting blatant lies just because they are losing a democratic process we usually consider it a kind of thing to be from some uncivilised dictatorship in the Middle East or Asia.

The fact that this is happening right now in supposedly the most powerful nation on Earth just blows the mind.

It just shows how much hatred, misinformation and rhetoric he's stirred up over the years. Forget talk about building a wall around the Mexican border - I think it's about time we seal that "middle america" bible bashing, gun-toting, pickup truck driving, hillbilly bit of America in.

It is often reported that they have completely lost their 'superpower' status to China and when you look at the television at the moment you can see why.

The world is watching and they can't believe what they see.

What is happening in America now can be explained by the lack of a decent opponent. I still think Biden will win but he is a one term president only.
