Mr Trump - All discussion here

His political views are simply no more than basic free market capitalism where the accruing of greater and greater wealth is the only real worthy ambition in life and any barriers to that should be dismantled.

Sorry, but I have to disagree that his political views are free market capitalism. Quite the opposite. He is a protectionist in every sense of the word, putting on tariffs to stifle free trade, breaking down international organisations. Even the much-vaunted wall is anti-freedom of movement and everything about closing America off to the world.

He has expressed no desire to reduce the debt, instead happily increasing it with nonsense like the wall or space force.

All of which makes the GOP's craven fawning to him so bizarre - his economic program, at least, is the very antithesis of what they have stood for for decades.

Isn't this something that he came to during his election campaign as a policy, when he was first accused of not having any?

I don't recall him making any pronouncements on tariffs or protectionism prior to that.

Why would he? He has as much interest in them per se as he would have in a low calorie veggie burger.

The point is valid though. He is a protectionist and fiscally imprudent. He is the antithesis of a freemarket capitalist.

And they will still be saying that everything that Trump succeeds at will be down to Obama.

Donald J Trump and the suppression of freedom of speech, namely criticism of himself.

Trump ends ex-CIA head John Brennan's security access

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-45203277

The statement cited Mr Brennan's "erratic conduct and behaviour".

In response, Mr Brennan tweeted that the move was part of President Trump's broader effort to "suppress freedom of speech and punish critics".

"It should gravely worry all Americans, including intelligence professionals, about the cost of speaking out.

"My principles are worth far more than clearances. I will not relent."

The media attack Trumps dirty war.

Mr Trump has derided media reports as "fake news" and attacked journalists as "enemies of the people".

UN experts have said this raises the risk of violence against journalists.

Why should people who no longer work in the job that required security clearance still have it?

It is traditional and in the US is done as a courtesy to the former post holder.

The only reason Trump revoked the fella's security clearance is because he spoke up for his former department after Trump publically trashed them in Helsinki by choosing to believe Putin rather than his own intelligence services.

The Trump blimp outside the House of Commons got it just right. He is an adult baby who cries like a child when anyone upsets him. He is so not going to like doing jail time when that moment comes.
