butlers   261 #4337 Posted July 22, 2020 (edited) Trump has altered it so the hospital numbers are reported to the Administration rather than the CDC ,headed by Dr Fauchi.  I guess the numbers go to HHS health n human services department ,headed by his apointee Azar.  Azar picked Brian Harrison, a 37-year old former labradoodle breeder who had no formal education in public health or related fields, as HHS’s main coordinator for the government’s response to the coronavirus.[50 Edited July 22, 2020 by butlers
 Share this content via...
butlers   261 #4338 Posted July 22, 2020 In former years Biden could well be regarded as a Republican ,he's no firebrand. In the Fox interview Trump said this.  He will destroy this country, but it won’t be him, it will be the radical left – the same ideology that took over Venezuela… they now have no water or medicine ... the same will happen here.  Can you imagine either a Tiry or Labour leader saying that about thier rival, just crazy, delusional.  Chris Wallace is a very good journalist, reminds me a bit of Andrew Neil.
 Share this content via...
butlers   261 #4339 Posted July 22, 2020 A few days before the Fox interview he answered questions in the Rose Garden and said  If I wasn't here to stop it, we'd be in some mess," he said with no sense of irony.   144,000 dead 1000 dead yesterday 65,000 new cases per day on average this last week. The projections are for 180,000 to 200,000 dead by voting day
 Share this content via...

janie48   97 #4341 Posted July 26, 2020 This Bruce Springsteen interview appeared on my YouTube TV recommendations after I'd been watching one of his music videos. I'd seen it on Channel 4 around the time of the US elections, but had forgotten about it.  What I liked about his comments on Donald Trump was that, even though he isn't a Trump supporter he understood why some of those who still live in the Community where he grew up had voted for him.
 Share this content via...

whiteowl   54 #4343 Posted July 30, 2020 (edited) In possibly the least surprising move ever, the Don is mooting the idea of postponing Novembers election.  If he delays it past noon on the 20th January, does Nancy Pelosi (Speaker of the House) become acting president? As Trump and Pence's term has expired.  *edit* no appears to be the answer from what I've read, as there would be no House as they are all up for election in November as well. What a mess!     Edited July 30, 2020 by whiteowl
 Share this content via...

He'll be needing the support of Congress  Apparently, he's concerned about voter fraud from mail in voting, unfortunately for him, 70% of Americans support voting by mail... https://thehill.com/homenews/campaign/509775-poll-70-percent-of-americans-support-voting-by-mail  Trump already setup a commission to look into this in 2017... they couldn't find any issue!  Trump, of course, likes to vote... by mail
 Share this content via...
