I understand all that but why is basically a one night stand now called an affair ?. And as for paying her off ,I think its not admitting guilt but not wanting bad publicity. Didn't a certain Mr Jackson do the same years ago ?

It is cheating. Lets not get too absorbed in how it is described- that is not the issue for me. He cheats, denies it (i have no idea if it is true or not) and then some 'mates' set about silencing the person he cheated with, without his knowledge obvs.

 

Cheating is one thing, lying is another and then suppressing it, thats a whole different ball game as they say.

 

The daily fail would be having kittens and puppies if a politician here was upto such shenanigans - and in ecstasy if it were a labour bod - although whilst they are quite happy to tolerate a one night thing, even they might draw the line at lying and covering it up even if it were a tory - just not what one does is it.
