Annie Bynnol   612 #2 Posted October 11, 2017 Our daughter has just been diagnosed with Autism. Are there any Autism support or play groups in Sheffield?  Thanks  Yes there are quite a few to choose from, the suitibility of which depend on age, location, group size etc.  Assuming that the diagnosis was supplied by Ryegate (The Childrens Hospital), use the contacts available through them.  The education department can offer advice and support. They offer early placements and advice on specialist nursery and playgroups. Their help is essential so that your daughter has access to the best, most suitible support and education. Their is also support for siblings.  The NAS has a website.  Sheffield Autistic Society  You should also get advice on financial support available to you as a carer.  Good luck. Asaw   10 #6 Posted October 22, 2017 Hi Just a bit of information to everyone with Autistic children. My son had problems with there former neighbour playing music loud banging on the wall and generally upsetting my grandson who was 4 at the time. They were asked to stop it and were ignored. It was reported to the police 5 times to which they came out twice. When the woman was interviewed she admitted it but nothing was done by the Police it was only classed as an incident not as a hate crime. If you read what is classed as a hate crime children below the age of consent with Autusm are ignored. Which is a total farce as they cannot defend themselves.
