Annie Bynnol   612 #4 Posted October 2, 2017 ... and your reason for just copying some news (days after the nationals) is?  I assume that mecheng46 wants to inform people of the events that took place today at 0400 today rather than days old speculation of what might happen. It also tells people what to do -the newspapers don't.  The BBC link also has links to the CAA/Monarch information.  "Monarch has confirmed that the following companies have ceased trading and now entered administration: Monarch Airlines Ltd Monarch Holidays Ltd (ATOL Number 2275) First Aviation Ltd (ATOL Number 4888) previously trading as Monarch Airlines Avro Ltd (ATOL Number 1939) Somewhere2stay Ltd  As a result, we are sorry to inform you that, as of 2 October 2017, all future holidays and flights provided by these companies have been cancelled and are no longer operating." iansheff   86 #10 Posted October 2, 2017 They looked like going under last year but were saved at the last minute. What I can't understand is why are the CAA chartering aircraft, surely it would be cheaper for the CAA to use the Monarch planes and pay the staff rather than charter aircraft. geared   303 #11 Posted October 2, 2017 People were apparently notified by text message that their flights were cancelled and that was it?  (Apart from all the news last week)
 Share this content via...
Geo-atkinson   10 #12 Posted October 2, 2017 Real shame this. I have flown with Monarch lots of times and thought they were the best of the budget airlines.
 Share this content via...
