L00b   441 #6 Posted September 14, 2017 (edited) Does anyone know if this going to happenI've a very good idea how much the unit leasing rates are, and given where Wilko is at these days, not a chance.  And those rates are only likely to go up, if Meadowhall's extension (as recently discussed in the news) gets green-lighted. Then again, given the ongoing retail contraction, I wouldn't count my chickens just yet about seeing that extension built. This move comes just weeks after Wilko bemoaned a rise in costs as a result of the pound's Brexit-induced collapse.I hope none of those 4,000 voted for it Edited September 14, 2017 by L00b
 Share this content via...
alchresearch   214 #7 Posted September 14, 2017 Wilko was a bit of a Woolworths killer.  ironically, B&M and Home Bargains have become the Wilko killer.
 Share this content via...
SkylinePhoto   10 #8 Posted September 14, 2017 Wilko was a bit of a Woolworths killer. ironically, B&M and Home Bargains have become the Wilko killer.  I went into Wilkos yesterday and half of the store is dedicated to Students .  I got some right bargains. 50p for a pint glass, £4 for an iron. £2 for a picture frame.  Get involved. I hope none of those 4,000 voted for it  Statistically I'd say about 67.8% of them did (but you already knew that ) but as a significant number of them will be from the EU it's probably a bit less.  But I like wilkos though. Cheap without the oppressive misery of Poundland.
 Share this content via...

The store has been totally transformed for incoming influx of students. In fact the majority of the 'Point of Sale' signs say STUDENT on them.  Im gonna pop in later so i'll take a photo for you
 Share this content via...
