Tramlines Festival - Hillsborough Park

Recommended Posts

So it all seems to have gone off OK. The world didn't end after all. Loads of people came to a big event in Sheff, had a good time and spent money in local businesses.

Pretty much

We Just need the council to sort out the drainage for next year, come on SCC you heard it here! One Whole Year :D so do it.

I'll be raising it at every Park Meeting :wave:

Was that the 'full closure' for the hour whilst it closes down?

No Cyclone it was much earlier in the evening ?

Paid? As far as I am aware no payment had to be made, they merely had to comply with a few things including a coordinated social media posting. Who told you they had to pay?

My apologies for not being clear. Listings in the programme we’re not free.

As for your”Who told you they had to pay?” demand? It was the venue in which I spent much of the weekend.

Who told you they merely had to comply with a few things?

( please sense the rhetorical nature of my last line)

I would rather not state which venue as they werent happy with the veiled threats to licenses made in emails from the Police/SCC over the whole thing.

I heard on Fosters show that they've had reports of "interesting" taxi fares around the event.

We paid £25 to get to town after. 4 Surge!

Anyway, just wanted to add my two penneth - I was one of the biggest moaners about the disruption it would cause. Well, it didn't at all! I invited a friend round on Friday to listen on the garden and we couldn't hear it! I had no problem parking at all and the incentives for collecting litter at the event were spot on.

Well done all - roll on next year!

I think the organiser should be congratulated. It must be years since over 35,000 people have gathered in one venue at Hillsborough.

Well done and good luck for next year.

So there we have it.

After all the moaning, whining, fake news, and predictions of disaster, the festival passed off with very little incident and was enjoyed by tens of thousands with even the rain failing to dampen peoples' spirits. What this success means is that the organisers should have no trouble obtaining a licence for next year's event.

Looks like Tramlines has finally found a permanent home for the main event.

Well done to all involved! :)

We had a fantastic weekend.

So many hardworking people, from the Police to the litter pickers, always with a smile on their faces.

The incentive with the plastic pint pots kept a lot of children busy and made a massive difference to the litter.

The bands were all great, with some lovely, fitting tributes to Sarah Nulty.

As a resident of the area, I've got to congratulate all involved in the planning, organising and executing of what has to be one of the greatest weekends I've seen in this city in my 40 years, from the Staff inside the park serving, cleaning or being a helpful presence to the lads and lasses outside sat at the end of the roads and the security staff guiding you, every single one of you did the city proud.

As for the event itself, well I just hope it has fully put Sheffield and more importantly to me Hillsborough firmly on the festival map, and I also hope it encourages more events of a similar nature to look at the park as a place for them to hold events.

Anyone that could find fault with this event are the same people who will always try and keep Sheffield down but then moan when something like this happens in Leeds.

This small minority need to have a long hard look at themselves and really reevaluate why they are so quick to be offended and always find themselves arguing against the vast majority of the city

In fact the only negativity to come out of this weekend is towards the unite union who thought they would disrupt this great event with there ridiculous decision to strike. instead of getting the city on its side in its dispute, it actually had the opposite effect

Well done tramlines, well done Hillsborough and well done Sheffield
