Sorry to hear that's happened again to you, was it the same spot as the previous time or times you've come a cropper on the lines?

Thanks Steve. Was same spot as many years ago; just before the crossroads with Holme Lane, heading to the park. There are multiple tracks intersecting at different angles so hard to negotiate, even for experienced cyclists.

The stage is almost gone and should be out by tonight. The fence will be last to come down as it has to stay up while there are still large vehicles and fork lifts operating in the park.

Parkrun is on for Saturday so the fence should be gone before then.

Of course it wasn't a coincidence.

Loads more people in the area = more business for local shops. Loads more people in the area does not = increased acts of vandalism.

However it's a huge coincidence if loads more DRINKING people in the area and an unusual act of vandalism aren't related.

You might as well claim that the violence on Friday night in town that the police deal with isn't related to the large number of people drinking in pubs on that particular evening.

Not really.

Why should they be related?

Even if it was related - it could have happened with a few lads walking back from the shakey on a Friday night.

Everyone just needs to chill out a bit and remember how good tramlines was for the city.

Why do you think the sales of the shops was related but the unusual vandalism wasn't?

Because lots of people going to a festival, need to buy fags, water, snacks, phone top ups and all sorts of things that you would need for a day in a park so a direct relationship.

A bunch of teenage boys smashing a fountain and trying to break into a shed is no more or less likely to happen whether the festival is happening or not.

Cant agree with that, there were thousands more people in the immediate area than usual.

Barriers are down, the last litter pick and tidying is underway. Car park still closed for now though, while they finish up.
