Guest makapaka   #3 Posted August 24, 2017 The council has a removal services for things like this.  Think they charge something like £15 an item. Sure if you look on their website you will find it.  They took an old bed and mattress away for us.
 Share this content via...

Daven   10 #5 Posted August 24, 2017 It could have been dumped in a quiet road somewhere.  Why would the Council take items away to dump them 'in a quiet road somewhere' for the Council to have to return and remove it ?
 Share this content via...

Sure if you look on their website you will find it.  They took an old bed and mattress away for us. £21 for upto three items, (reduced to a tenner if you're on certain benefits). Best bet is to buy a new mattress from somewhere which will take the old one away (think it cost us a tenner for the last one we bought).  https://www.veolia.co.uk/sheffield/collections-home/collections-home/bulky-item-collection-service
 Share this content via...

MEC176 Â Â 10 #11 Posted August 24, 2017 Is this some form of Sheffieldese of which I am unfamiliar? Â On a dark night when the moon is full this is when mattresses multiply in quiet leafy lanes one minute there is nothing then a full disregarded unloved bedroom suite appears and we the rate payers have to pay to have it removed.
