Blades v Barnsley

Recommended Posts

Blades winning 1 - 0 and both down to ten men, wonder if it was a fight as both off at same time.

We have played well up to scoring, then for some reason, instead of doubling down on our dominance,we took our foot off and let them into the game, plus started to make mistakes and a poor final ball. The officials have then decided that Clarke has offended when he was protecting himself from their players aggression and decided they both had to go when only one deserved red.

We need to go for these in the second half, because they haven't done anything of note, but it's the kind of game when we will gift wrap them a goal, not to say the officials possibility of making more mistakes.

This is what the BBC reporter has to say about it, if it is correct then they both had to go.

Looking at the incident more closely, I don't think referee Tim Robinson was left with much choice but to send the pair off.

It seemed Leon Clarke grabbed Angus MacDonald by the throat, and the Barnsley captain reacted by moving his head towards the striker.

It didn't appear to make contact, but there was intent. It's 10 a side for the rest of this match.

2-0 sounds like it's well deserved by united, these are the type of home games you need to be winning.

2 - 0? it says 1 - 0 on BBC and Sky web pages.

Someone posted on BBC.

Scrappy, niggly, a bit dull? Take your pick. How about embarrassing? Barnsley are shocking

Bet365 said united had scored a second, obviously not.

Good win for us,we battled well and played well in spells, but we made really hard work of what should have been an elemantary win.Don't know how that ball stayed out from Brooks, but we need 3 good additions to this team to be able to breathe more easily.

Could and probably should have been 2/3 nil, Barnsley hardly had a shot and their keeper was excellent.

And another goal for the player who can't cut it on the Championship.

A solid win today, should have scored more really. To be honest Barnsley don't any better than a lot of the teams we played last season. They could be in trouble .

Massively impressed with what I've seen of Brooks so far this season, he looks to have got a big future in the game.Note to chairman...lets keep hold of this one for as long as possible.

Yes,Brooks looked really good when he came on,when he develops from a kid to a man, there's no reason to think he's not going to make a decent player.
