If you get higher rate mobility you automatically qualify for a blue badge.

Only those given enhanced rate mobility in PIP through route 2, Moving Around, will automatically be given a blue badge.

 

Unfortunately this is correct as I queried it with the council when my disabled young person was turned down for a blue badge.

 

It appears that those still granted high rate mobility through DLA still qualify for a blue badge, using the link to gov.uk that Medusa helpfully supplied.

 

So it is different for DLA and PIP recipients.
