alchresearch   213 #74 Posted August 1, 2017 Acid attacks are just the latest craze that people have latched onto, just like using mopeds for crime.  Speaking of which, I bet there's some knee jerk action against them now:  http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-birmingham-40785740
 Share this content via...
silentP   10 #75 Posted August 1, 2017 They're at increased risk from attacks. That should be clear. Look at the numbers. The changes were made against a backdrop of rising numbers of attacks, and advised against by experts. The experts have turned out to be right. Ministers now have a chance to correct their mistake. And I haven't argued that the change in legislation has caused the increase in attacks. Maybe it has made some difference but it is best to use caution.  . suggesting that there was no problem getting the stuff anyway so regulating was having no affect. BazBug   10 #76 Posted August 1, 2017 This thread is hilarious.  Crime involving firearms rose from 1998 to 2006 yet handguns were banned in 1997. Using the logic (hahaha) of this thread it is legitimate to say the government banning handguns increased the firearm crime rate and the sensible thing to do is make handguns legal again.  Try instead, repeating after me, very slowly: Correlation Is Not Causation.  (btw, don't bother looking up the actual fatality as opposed to just crime rate because that won't save you!)
