is there a site you can report road defects, because where the buses stand has failed and the patch repair they did lasted 2 weeks it all needs digging up and redoing , I think its time to name and shame the roads that need resurfacing

Could be any number of reasons. The materials used might have been faulty.

Maybe, maybe not but resurfacing a road that may be technically defective but is to all intents fine, before a road like Wordsworth which is not only in an appalling condition, but is actually dangerous, particularly for cyclists, makes no sense at all.

That is like a casualty doctor re bandaging a sprained wrist while a queue of people with broken arms are waiting to be seen.

Doing the footpaths round here.

On Friday some nice men arrived and proceeded to patch numerous areas of the paths that have needed doing for about 18 months. On being asked they replied they were repairing 'trip hazards'.

The following Monday the same footpaths were all ripped up with new hardcore and tops put down. Thought the powers that be were pleading lack of funds :loopy:

The Council pay a fixed amount to Amey every year.

Amey have to maintain the highways to a standard set out in the contract.

If Amey carry out the work inefficiently that's their loss, it doesn't cost the Council any more than they already pay.

Other than in legal fees taking residents to court to protect AMEY's profits :o
