susa41981 Â Â 10 #1 Posted July 9, 2017 Hi Can anyone recommend a nice hotel to stay in somewhere near the Lake District for like a long weekend? As cheap as possible if I'm being honest but somewhere that's maybe got some nice scenery and walks close by. Any help would be great. blake   10 #2 Posted July 9, 2017 the Lake District unlike the mere Peak District, Dartmoor, Exmoor, or the Pembrokeshire Coast, is now a World Heritage Site, so be careful where, and how, you take your long walks. You might tread on something unexpectedly historical.
 Share this content via...

cgksheff   44 #5 Posted July 10, 2017 How about a Youth Hostel? Can't beat them for price.  Only if you want to sleep with strangers in a bunkroom.  Private rooms are expensive for 2.
 Share this content via...

alchresearch   213 #7 Posted July 10, 2017 (edited) AirBNB is the way to go. I stay at a great place in Ulverston and avoid the tourist trap and endless queues of traffic around Ambleside, and its great for exploring the coast and the little ferry over to Piel Island.  http://www.pielisland.co.uk/  Google image search Duddon Estuary or Millom Estuary too.  Or just on the outskirts is Grange Over Sands, Arnside and Silverdale. Beautiful places (an AONB place) and fantastic walks. Edited July 10, 2017 by alchresearch
 Share this content via...
