Anyone here from Attercliffe?

hi have just found this forum what a great place for memories

living in carbrook(carltonville rd} from1939 till1960 attending

carbrook county inf &junior then coleridge rd sec mod till

leaving in 1954 to start work at balfour eng just over brige at

greenland road names i remember from school alan eyre alen

dickson keny bowers gordon hancock both bennett bros

who all ways fighting each other spent lots of time on

commer mispent youth at attercliffe rink above webster

had afew pints in bird in hand and pops at broughton lane

will keep eye on site now retierd grandchildren teaching

about computas

iremember gordon hancock and i also used to go to the attercliffe skating rink with afew more girls from carbrook i lived on bright street

Ahh, so your house backed onto the school.

 

you must have been up toward the corner where the rag-yard was...

 

There was a lovely photo of Carltonville Road in the star about 18 months ago, dating from 1971, taken looking toward the junction with Campbell St?rd (I think that was the name of the last road that ran off CVR... I remember Melville and Ravensworth roads) it made me feel all nostalgic,*sniff*.

plain talker didnt see photo of cvr but you got 3 out4 street .

the one you missed out clarfield road houses down rhs,

other side back door to shops on common no our house backed

on to rec

june now lives in spain i also used to hang around with christine wildon she is about my age but i remember ann iris len and i think john who was younger tthere was also the fiddlers and the pearces i lived across the street very happy memories all the best j

i was born on brompton road but lived on ferguson street till 11 does anyone remember the church lads brigade and the whit parades in the 50s and huntsmans gardens school

I lived in same yard as Wildons ,Womacks ,Pierces, Sykes, Alans, I lived on the Bee Street side and like you have wonderful memories of carbrook

thats the gordon i spent many years with. i also remember all families listed

ann wilden, will be my age remember, june womack, iris wilden, pearces

had a daughter cant remember name any idea were gordon is now?

lost touch when houses pulled down
