xsf7 Posted June 13, 2017 Posted June 13, 2017 I thought it was on west street Didn't they turn that into luxury flats?
wagginfinger Posted June 13, 2017 Author Posted June 13, 2017 thanks to Alan 58--will try in the morning
Elmambo Posted June 13, 2017 Posted June 13, 2017 Yes, it's in Dundee. My experience was that you will be on hold for ages on the 0800, number, but if you use the pay no. you will get through quickly.
wagginfinger Posted June 14, 2017 Author Posted June 14, 2017 just to thank all who tried to assist---I have rung the Freephone no given by Alan 58----- you are given a 0345 no to call which you will start paying as soon as the connection is made----I did this last week was on the phone for some 30/40 min this time I kept on the 0800 no and was connected in about10 mins the call was directed to a call centre in Newcastle ---the assistant was very helpful but would not give an address so I could back my claim up in writing-- when you have a problem I feel it best to have someone as a contact point ,because you know that getting the same operator will be almost impossible luckily the call centre was in this country and could understand the Gordie accent as my mother came from Jarrow--thanks again
haddy Posted June 14, 2017 Posted June 14, 2017 Unfortunately no one person just deals with stuff anymore. Unfortunately a number of people will probably be involved. Unfortunately its cut backs caused by government cuts that have caused such a less personalised system.
wagginfinger Posted June 14, 2017 Author Posted June 14, 2017 I have today received a letter from DWP and the address it came from was The pension service3 mail handling site A Wolverhampton WV981A from the pension centre manager--Derek Wood
Anna B Posted June 14, 2017 Posted June 14, 2017 As someone who tries to deal with various government departments on behalf of other people, and regularly comes up against nothing but delays, confusion, buck-passing and incompetence, I can only agree with Ken Loach's assessment that it is: "The intentional inefficiency of bureaucracy used as a political weapon."

Or SNAFU is the usual term for interaction with Government departments which *may* favour the caller. Try calling the snitch a benefits cheat line.. It's answered almost immediately.
